Arsenal entertained Porto at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg of their UEFA Champions League tie. The Gunners made a decent start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 41st minute when Leandro Trossard got his name on the scoresheet after Martin Odegaard set him up with an excellent pass. Mikel Arteta‘s men went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.
The two teams cancelled each other out in the second half as the match finished 1-0 in favour of Arsenal which took the game to extra-time. Both teams fought tooth and nail in extra time but were unable to score the winning goal.
The tie went to penalties after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw over the two legs. Arsenal ended up winning by a 4-2 margin.

Saliba cleared the danger when needed and won his fair share of aerial duels.

The Brazilian defender performed his responsibilities well and was tidy with his passing.

He was a strong presence in the air and made a good run with the ball.
CM: Martin Odegaard – 8/10
Odegaard set up Trossard’s goal with a great pass and went on to score his penalty in the shootout.
CM: Jorginho – 7/10
He anchored the midfield well but offered very little in the opponent’s half.
CM: Declan Rice – 7.5/10
Rice offered solid protection for his teammates at the back and converted his penalty in the shootout.
RW: Bukayo Saka – 8/10
He came back to defend when needed and was a constant menace in the Porto half. He scored from the spot in the shootout.
ST: Kai Havertz – 7/10
Havertz was quiet for most of the game but did well to score his penalty.
LW: Leandro Trossard – 8/10
Trossard engineered some promising chances for others around him and was responsible for scoring the opening goal in the 41st minute.

His impact on the game was minimal.
