In a recent print edition, SportBILD mentioned that Newcastle United have identified Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush. It has been stated that the Magpies are hoping to acquire the services of the Egyptian talent who is dreaming of a move to the Premier League in the summer.
Marmoush’s Impressive Form In German Football
Marmoush is enjoying a productive campaign at the German club as he has been responsible for producing a string of impressive displays for them in front of the opponent’s goal. The 25-year-old has banged in 15 goals and picked up six assists in 33 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt this season in multiple competitions.
The Egyptian attacker has been consistent with his offensive contributions based on his average of 2.4 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. However, he has been a bit sloppy when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass success rate of 71.9% in the German top flight (stats via whoscored).
Marmoush is under contract at Frankfurt until the summer of 2027. Therefore, Newcastle United would find it difficult to get a deal done for him on the cheap at the end of this season.
Should Newcastle United Snap Marmoush Up This Summer?
Marmoush is proficient at finding space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances for others around him in the final third and can make a handful of impressive runs with the ball up top.
The Egypt international is primarily a centre-forward but can also operate as a winger on either flank if required. However, Marmoush has to find a way to improve his link-up play in the opponent’s half if he wants to taste success at the highest level.
We can expect him to add more firepower to Newcastle‘s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first team spot at St. James’ Park next season. Marmoush might even help the Magpies compete for a top-four spot in the Premier League over the next few years.
At 25, the Egypt international has his prime years ahead of him, so Newcastle would be wise to snap him up in the upcoming transfer window.
