Manchester City have identified Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze as their top target for the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The club value the player a lot and want to add him to their ranks ahead of next season.
The Citizens even tried to lure Eze away from his current club last summer. But unfortunately, the two parties didn’t reach an agreement. However, the defending champions are ready to meet the Eagles’ demand and splash €90 million for the player.
Eberechi Eze knows the Premier League very well
Coming through the ranks of English football, Eberechi Eze signed for Crystal Palace in the summer of 2020 for a reported fee of around £17 million. Since then, he has climbed up the ladders step by step and has established himself in the side.
The English footballer has appeared in 22 games this season so far, contributing six goals and three assists. He is averaging 2.8 shots, 2.4 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game. Though he mainly plays as an attacking midfielder, he can also operate on the left flank (stats via whoscored).
Eze is good at dribbling and taking long-range shots. He also has the ability to score from set pieces. With pin-point crosses and intelligent passes, he becomes a threat to the opposition. The 25-year-old still has three years left on his contract.
Manchester City are ready to sign Eberechi Eze
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is impressed with Eberechi Eze’s profile. He wants to mark his presence in the squad to bolster their already star-studded lineup. He has been forcing the club to go for his signature and the management has finally decided to sanction a big sum.
The English attacking midfielder is willing to make a switch too. He will have a prominent role to play in one of the most in-form teams across Europe. The Citizens can use the player in the midfield as well as on the left flank. With the uncertainty over the futures of Kevin de Bruyne and Jack Grealish at Etihad Stadium, Eze’s arrival will be a good move.
