Premier League club Manchester City are preparing themselves to sign Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer, according to a report published in TeamTalk. The club find him as an attractive name to add to the squad for next season.
However, the Citizens will have to offer a massive sum to lure away the youngster. Reportedly, they are willing to part ways with Jack Grealish to fund the signing. The latter has returned moderate numbers so far and hence, could be used to raise money.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a reliable name for Napoli
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia signed for Napoli in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of around €10–12 million. Since then, he has been climbing up the ladders quickly. He has established himself as a reliable attacking in the Italian league.
The Georgian winger has featured in 38 games this season so far, netting 10 goals and assisting six times. He is averaging 3.5 shots, 1.8 key passes, and 3.2 dribbles per game. While he mainly plays on the left flank, he can also operate as a striker or an attacking midfielder (stats via whoscored).
Kvaratskhelia is a creative pick in the offensive line as he knows how to open an opponent’s defence. He has great dribbling skills and his passes are accurate too. With solid finishing ability, he becomes a great pick for any side across Europe.
Napoli will demand a premium fee from Manchester City
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been losing faith in Jack Grealish. As a result, he has started exploring other options for the left wing. He is also pushing for the acquisition of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer to strengthen the attacking unit.
The club sent their scouts to watch the Serie A forward play. The Citizens understand that Napoli will hesitate to sell him as Victor Osimhen is also expected to leave following this season. Hence, they should offer a lucrative deal that the Italian club have no choice but to sell.
