Barcelona will be hosting Mallorca in the La Liga this weekend. After settling for a goalless draw against Athletic Club, it will be an opportunity for the former side to make a comeback. The match’s result will hold a greater significance just for the fact that Barca will next face Napoli in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
The Blaugrana are third in the domestic points table, eight points off the table-toppers and arch-rivals Real Madrid. Therefore, they cannot afford to drop any further points. Unfortunately, their camp has been hit by multiple injuries in recent weeks.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs Mallorca
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will once again line up between the sticks. He had little work to do in the previous game but will be instrumental for the side in the upcoming games. Jules Kounde will continue to operate in the right-back position. He will be expected to deliver more in the offensive part.
17-year-old Pau Cubarsi will retain his position in the defence and form the centre-back duo with Inigo Martinez, who will walk in place of Ronald Araujo. Araujo will remain suspended for the game after picking up a yellow card last week.
Joao Cancelo had a dismal performance against Athletic Club and would want to perform better as the left-back.
Midfield
Andreas Christensen will have a prominent role to play in the midfield alongside Ilkay Gundogan in the absence of Frenkie de Jong and Pedri. The duo picked up injuries in the previous game and will not be available. Fermin Lopez is expected to be the third midfielder.
Attack
Lamine Yamal will definitely start the game after his impressive glimpse last week. Raphinha is expected to operate on the left wing while Robert Lewandowski will lead the attack. The attacking trio should be more creative and goal-oriented.
Ferran Torres could make a comeback from the injury and step onto the field in the second half.
