West Ham United will host Aston Villa at the London Stadium in the Premier League this weekend. They will be heading into the clash with a lot of confidence after registering a comprehensive 5-0 victory over SC Freiburg in the Europe League.
Though the match will be crucial for both sides, the Hammers will be more motivated to bring the desired result. They are seventh in the domestic points table and it will be a direct chance to cut points of the Villans, who are in fourth position. A win will help them climb up the ladders and get a qualification spot.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup Vs Aston Villa
Defence
Alphonse Areola will return to the goal line replacing Lukasz Fabianski, who enjoyed his time on Thursday in the Europa League. No change at the right-back position as Vladimir Coufal continues after an impressive display of performance.
The centre-back duo of Kostas Mavropanos and Kurt Zouma remains intact for the Aston Villa challenge. They will have to do the hard work to restrict the opponents from scoring. Emerson Palmieri should be returning to the left-back position replacing Aaron Cresswell despite a brilliant performance in the last game.
Midfield
David Moyes could be benching Tomas Soucek to play James Ward-Prowse in the midfield alongside Edson Alvarez. It will be interesting to see how it turns out on Sunday.
While Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus operate on the flanks, Lucas Paqueta finds himself in the centre position. The trio are instrumental in creating goal-scoring chances and also providing the extra layer of defence.
Attack
Danny Ings is expected to replace Michail Antonio as the striker of the side. The English attacker was brilliant against SC Freiburg and could be rewarded a start.
The Hammers will be without the services of Maxwel Cornet.
