Aston Villa will face off against West Ham United at the London Stadium this Sunday afternoon as they try to secure all three points on their travels in the Premier League. The Villans managed to earn a dominant 4-0 win over Ajax in the UEFA Europa Conference League recently which should give them a ton of confidence ahead of this game.
Unai Emery will opt for the 4-4-1-1 formation and is expected to name a strong team for this game. Jhon Duran will probably lead the line for the West Midlands club as Ollie Watkins is a major doubt for this game due to a knee injury.
4-4-1-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face West Ham United
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will feature in between the sticks for the Villans after keeping a clean sheet versus Ajax recently. Pau Torres will play alongside Clement Lenglet at the heart of the Aston Villa backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Matty Cash will continue to feature as the right-back while Alex Moreno looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Emery would instruct both of them to perform their defensive duties well so that the Villans can restrict the home team from creating too many problems out on the flanks.
Lucas Digne will offer cover for the left-back position on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Tim Iroegbunam will anchor the midfield for the West Midlands club as they try to make life difficult for the opposition and dictate the flow of the game at the centre of the park.
Youri Tielemans might fill in as a left-sided wide player while Leon Bailey hopes to put his pace to good use on the right flank. Moussa Diaby will get a chance to express himself in the number ten position. He would have to carry most of the creative workload for Aston Villa in the final third.
John McGinn is suspended for this game. Plus, Jacob Ramsey is a significant concern ahead of this clash at the London Stadium.
Attack
Jhon Duran will lead the charge for the Villans up top. He would have to find a way to threaten the West Ham goal this Sunday afternoon.
Ollie Watkins is a major doubt for this game after suffering a knee injury versus Ajax.
