Cesc Fabregas, the former Chelsea and Arsenal legend, believes Arsenal are very strong right now. He believes they should not drop points against Sheffield United. This is despite the added strain of playing after their title rivals on Monday evening. According to Fabregas, Arsenal should be comfortably winning this match.
Cesc Fabregas on Arsenal vs Sheffield United
Cesc Fabregas believes Arsenal will be too good for Sheffield United in their next match on Monday. He thinks this because they have been playing really well in 2024, not losing any games in the league since the year started. Because of this great form, The Gunners are in a strong position going into the match against Sheffield United. It’s going to be hard for Sheffield United to stop Arsenal from performing well. Since Liverpool is also playing very well, Arsenal needs to keep winning games to stay competitive. Even though Arsenal have harder games coming up, winning the next match against Sheffield is really important for Arteta’s team.
“It shouldn’t [affect the players] but unfortunately, mentally, it works this way. I see Arsenal at the moment as too strong. I see them confident. I know they lost against Porto, but I think in the Premier League nowadays they are two levels up and I believe that they know exactly what they’re doing. I’m sure they believe, and they’re pushing from the staff point of view to win this game more than anything because these games win titles,” Cesc said to BBC.
“It’s very different to go in my day to Stoke City on Saturday three o’clock then Monday night football. We go back to perceptions, to the humidity, the night time to approach the games, the travelling, the long wait for the game, these little things, knowing exactly what the opponents have done. If they have won they put pressure on you. There’s a bit of everything but, at the moment, I see Arsenal a little bit too strong to be dropping points there,” he added.

Some good news for the Gunners is that some of their injured players are getting better. Gabriel Jesus might start playing on Monday, and Thomas Partey might also be back in the squad for the first time since April.
