West Ham United will entertain Burnley at the London Stadium this Sunday afternoon as they try to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Hammers suffered a tough 1-0 loss away at Freiburg in the UEFA Europa League recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways versus the Clarets this weekend.
David Moyes will stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first team for this game. Alphonso Areola will get a chance to play from the start of this contest.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Alphonse Areola will feature in between the sticks for the Hammers while Lukasz Fabianski makes way for him and drops to the bench. Kurt Zouma will function alongside Konstantinos Mavropanos at the heart of the West Ham backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Emerson Palmieri will operate as the left-back while Vladimir Coufal hopes to give a good account of himself as the right-back. Moyes will ask both of them to be more adventurous than usual as West Ham look to push for the win this weekend.
Aaron Cresswell will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Tomas Soucek and Julian Alvarez will anchor the midfield for West Ham as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Lucas Paqueta, James Ward-Prowse and Mohammed Kudus will play just ahead of them as part of Moyes’ attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Hammers are to create enough chances to win this contest.
Kalvin Phillips will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Jarrod Bowen will lead the line for the London outfit in the final third. He has to find a way to threaten the Burnley goal this weekend.
Michail Antonio will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if required.
