In a recent report, Sport claimed that Barcelona have been offered a chance to sign AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala in the summer. It has been revealed that the Catalan club has been handed an opportunity to bring the Argentine attacker to the Nou Camp in the upcoming transfer window.
Dybala’s Impressive Season In Italian Football
Dybala is having a decent campaign at the Italian club as he has managed to put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The Argentina international has banged in 13 goals and earned seven assists in 26 matches for Roma this season on all fronts.
The 30-year-old has been a reliable performer up top based on his average of 2.3 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after making 84.3% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Roma will run out at the end of next season which could open the door for Barca to sign him on the cheap this summer.
What Will Dybala Bring To Barcelona?
Dybala is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates on the offensive end of the field.
The Argentine talent is a technically gifted footballer who can make a few clever runs in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He is primarily a striker but can also play as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so.
We can expect Dybala to bring more firepower to Barcelona‘s frontline. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp next season. At 30, the South American sensation has still got a few good years left in him to play at a high level.
Thus, it makes sense for the Catalan giants to try and arrange a cut-price move for Dybala when the transfer window reopens later this year. However, only time will tell whether the Roma forward can maintain his good form in Spanish football if Barca manage to land him in the summer.
