In a recent report, Calciomercato mentioned that Aston Villa are set to rival Newcastle United for Juventus prospect Matias Soule, who is currently playing on loan at Frosinone. It is understood that the Villans are back in the running to land the Argentine wide player this summer.
Soule’s Decent Loan Spell At Frosinone
Soule has enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Frosinone as he has managed to put in a handful of fruitful displays for them in the final third. The 20-year-old has scored ten goals and picked up a couple of assists in 29 appearances for the Italian outfit this season across multiple competitions.
The 20-year-old has been a great performer for Frosinone up top based on his average of 2.2 shots, 2.2 key passes and 3.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 81% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at his parent club Juventus will expire in the summer of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Villans to get a deal done for him on the cheap later this year.
Aston Villa Are Set To Rival Newcastle United For Soule: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Soule can complete a few dangerous dribbles with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the vision to create some meaningful openings for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range.
The Argentine sensation deserves credit for adding some goals to his game this season. He is primarily a right-winger but can also play centrally as an attacking midfielder or as a secondary striker if needed.
At 20, Soule is destined to have a promising future in European football. Therefore, the Villans will do well to win the race for his services at the end of this campaign. He would inject more quality into Aston Villa boss Unai Emery’s match-day.
Soule is already good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at Villa Park in the coming years. Hence, the West Midlands club should look to get him on board this summer as he is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future.
