Aston Villa have set their eyes on Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri for the summer transfer window, according to a report published in Fichajes. The club are very much in power to earn a Champions League spot for next season.
Hence, the Villans want to add depth to their attacking unit in order to fight for the prestigious titles. The striker himself is willing to accept a new challenge and make a move away from Spain. However, West Ham United are also a part of the race.
Youssef En-Nesyri has shown his potential in La Liga
After representing Malaga and Leganes, Youssef En-Nesyri signed for Sevilla in the summer of 2018. He took his career to a whole new level and emerged as a solid performer for the Spanish club. He has been one of the best performers in recent times and a regular name on the starting lineup.
The 26-year-old has featured in 32 games this season so far, netting 14 goals and providing two assists. He is averaging 2 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per game. His physical strength and effectively in the penalty box make him a lucrative option for many clubs (stats via whoscored).
However, Nesyri needs to work on improving his passes as his passing accuracy is below 70%. Whatever is there, he remains an undisputed name on the team sheet despite changes in the managerial position. This shows how good he has been for his current employers.
Youssef En-Nesyri will not cost much
Aston Villa are having a decent season as they continue to find themselves in the top four spots in the Premier League. However, they understand the need to bolster the offensive line as they have suffered whenever Ollie Watkins wasn’t available.
Boss Unai Emery believes that the arrival of Youssef En-Nesyri will give them the much-needed flexibility. The Morrocan striker will not cost them more than €20. Hence, the deal will be financially possible too.
