Newcastle United will entertain Bournemouth at St. James’ Park this Saturday afternoon as they look to earn a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to keep changes to a minimum for this game. Therefore, Callum Wilson will once again lead the line for the Tyneside club in the final third.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
Martin Dubravka will feature in between the sticks for the Magpies after shipping in a couple of goals in his last outing. Fabian Schar will function alongside Sven Botman at the heart of their Newcastle backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Kieran Trippier will operate as the right-back while Dan Burn fills in on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Jamaal Lascelles will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Lewis Miley, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will make up the Tyneside club’s midfield. All three of them need to be at their best if they are to create enough chances for Newcastle to win this contest.
Jacob Murphy will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Anthony Gordon will try to catch the eye on the left flank while Miguel Almiron hopes to put his pace to good use on the right wing. Callum Wilson, who is a slight concern for this game, will spearhead Newcastle’s attack down the middle. The English striker would have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for the Magpies on his own up top.
Harvey Barnes will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the contest if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then.
