Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal should always be considered when a top talent like Kylian Mbappe becomes available. Mbappe will leave Paris Saint-Germain soon because his contract is up and will join Real Madrid as per reports. He was previously linked to Arsenal because he loved Thierry Henry, the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Mikel Arteta on Kylian Mbappe
Mikel Arteta thinks Arsenal should try to get Kylian Mbappe from Paris St Germain this summer. Mbappe, who many say might go to Real Madrid, will be leaving his current team when his contract ends this season as per recent reports.
“When there is a player of this calibre, we always have to be in the conversation […] if we want to be the best team, we are going to need the best talent and the best players, that is for sure. Everybody wants to play for Arsenal. The players we have held discussions with, they always have that smile on their face the moment you open the door and start to have that conversation,” Arteta said.

Arsenal are getting ready to face Burnley. The Gunners have won four games in a row, scoring a total of 16 goals and conceding only two. Arteta hinted that some injured players like Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Fabio Vieira might be ready to play. He also mentioned that Thomas Partey, who has been out with a thigh injury since October, is improving and could return in about two weeks.
Arteta talked about how his team really wants to finish the season as champions. Arsenal are in third place, just two points behind the leaders, Liverpool. They feel they’ve become better since they didn’t do as well last season.
“It’s the most important part of the season. We know that every fixture will play a significant part in what we want to achieve. We have learned a lot of things from last season..” he added.
