West Ham United are interested in signing non-league emerging star Olly Box in the 2024 summer transfer window, according to HITC. The club have been scouting the player for a while now and wants to acquire his signature ahead of the next season.
The likes of Brentford, Middlesbrough, Millwall and Leyton Orient are also interested in the player. But the hammers are leading the race and will face neck-to-neck competition from another English club Crystal Palace, who have made it a habit to go for talented youngsters.
Olly Box is climbing up the ladders
Olly Box is one of the most exciting players in the non-league football. He came through the ranks at National League South outfit Dartford and burst onto the scene with his impressive performances in recent weeks. He has already scored three goals in two games.
The 18-year-old has been excellent at the academy level and also did well with the first team. His impressive numbers are proof that he is a player on the rising graph. He was also praised by the Dartford academy manager Ben Greenhalgh.
“Olly has been our player of the season this year and really excelled at academy level each game week in and week out and has also gained valuable first-team experience with Corinthians last season scoring seven goals with them,” he said.
West Ham United should go for him
West Ham United are planning to build for the future by offering a long-term contract to David Moyes and recruiting top talents. They strengthened their midfield unit with the likes of Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Kalvin Phillips.
However, Phillips will return to Manchester City at the end of the season as the loan contract will expire. This will open up slots in the midfield for the Hammers. The arrival of Olly Box will be a good move by the club as the midfielder can be a long-term solution.
The midfielder would be open to making a move to the Premier League to lift his career. Many believe that Box will emerge as a superstar in a top league in the future.
