Van Dijk Gets 9, Kelleher With 8.5 | Liverpool Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs Chelsea

Liverpool faced off against Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium earlier today as they looked to secure a win in the Carabao Cup final. The Reds made a good start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

The Merseyside club continued to threaten in the second half but had to settle for a 0-0 draw after normal time.

Virgil Van Dijk finally made the difference for Jurgen Klopp‘s men as he scored in the 118th minute with a great head. Liverpool ended up earning a narrow 1-0 win after extra-time in the Carabao Cup final.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the contest against the Blues.

GK: Caoimhin Kelleher – 8.5/10

Kelleher made a lot of big saves during the game and managed to secure a vital clean sheet this evening.

RB: Conor Bradley – 7/10

He performed his defensive duties well and was a threat going forward.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7.5/10

Konate worked hard to keep things tidy inside his half and was replaced in the 105th minute.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 9/10

The Liverpool captain was a rock at the back. He had a goal chalked off by VAR but came back and managed to net the winning goal with a great header in the latter stages of extra time.

LB: Andy Robertson – 7.5/10

He was a positive influence in both halves and did well to last 86 minutes.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 7.5/10

Mac Allister anchored the midfield well and managed to impress at times in the opponent’s half.

CM: Wataru Endo – 7.5/10

He offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and was a good presence on the ball.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch – 6.5/10

Gravenberch began the game well but picked up an injury and was substituted in the 27th minute.

RW: Harvey Elliott – 7.5/10

He ran a lot in the opponent’s half and had a few lively moments in front of the Chelsea goal.

ST: Cody Gakpo – 6.5/10

Gakpo went close to scoring with his header but could only hit the post.

LW: Luis Diaz – 7.5/10

Diaz was a constant threat in the final third but looked out of energy in extra time.

Substitutes:

RB: Joe Gomez – 7/10

He didn’t do much wrong at the back.

CM: Bobby Clarke – 6.5/10

Clarke caught the eye at times after coming off the bench.

ST: Jayden Danns – 6.5/10

He went close to scoring but was denied by an excellent save from Dorde Petrovic.

CM: James McConnell – 6.5/10

McConnell made a few decent chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half.

LB: Kostas Tsimikas – 7.5/10

He picked up an assist for setting up Van Dijk’s winning goal.

CB: Jarell Quansah – 6.5/10

Quansah made one decent run with the ball.
