In a recent report, Sport stated that Tottenham Hotspur have already made a move for Barcelona ace Raphinha. It has been stated that Spurs have launched a €70m bid to sign the Brazilian wide player.
Raphinha’s Impressive Numbers In La Liga This Season
Raphinha has enjoyed a decent campaign at the Catalan club after he put in a series of influential displays for them in the final third. The former Leeds United star has done well to find the back of the net four times and picked up seven assists in 20 matches for Barca this season across various competitions.
The 27-year-old has been a reliable performer out in the wide areas as he is averaging 2.2 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even taken care of the ball when interchanging possession with his teammates based on his pass success rate of 79.6% in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
Raphinha’s current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2027, so Spurs would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about bringing the Brazilian wing wizard back to England this summer.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu Snap Raphinha Up?
Raphinha has got the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out on the flanks. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to play a few decisive passes in the attacking third of the pitch.
The Brazilian talent is primarily a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. Hence, he would be a good signing for Tottenham to pull off next summer.
Raphinha would add more pace and creativity to Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. He is more than capable of earning a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming seasons. Plus, the Brazilian wide player might help Spurs compete for a major trophy or two in the future.
At 27, Raphinha is about to enter the peak stage of his playing career. Therefore, Postecoglu should look to go all out to bring him to the London club when the transfer window reopens later this year.
