In a recent report, Calciomercato stated that Tottenham Hotspur are locked in a three-way battle for Fulham ace Tosin Adarabioyo. It has been mentioned that Spurs will have to rival AC Milan and West Ham United in the race to land the English central defender in the summer.
Adarabioyo’s Impressive Form In English Football
Adarabioyo has been a good performer at the heart of Fulham’s backline after putting in a string of solid performances for the London outfit in the Premier League. The 26-year-old has scored one goal in 16 matches for Fulham this season in all competitions.
The Manchester-born talent has been a dominant presence when defending inside his half as he is averaging 0.8 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 4.3 clearances per game in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from the back after making 84.4% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Craven Cottage will run out at the end of this campaign which could open the door for Spurs to sign on a free transfer later this year.
Is Adarabioyo A Decent Fit For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?
Adarabioyo is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn the ball back for his side on the defensive end of the pitch. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot.
The English sensation excels at playing his way out from the back. Standing at 1.96m, he can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air as well. Hence, Adarabioyo would be a great fit for Tottenham’s defensive needs at the moment. He would add plenty of bite and steel to Spurs head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s defence.
At 26, Adarabioyo is about to enter his prime which makes him a worthy target for the North London club to pursue this summer. He already has enough experience in the Premier League and won’t take any time to settle into life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. All in all, Postecoglu would be wise to go all out to acquire the services of the Fulham defensive ace in the summer transfer period.
