Tottenham will host Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday in a Premier League fixture. They will be aiming at securing three points to boost their chances of finishing in the top four. They are fifth in the points table, just two points behind Aston Villa.
It will also be a good opportunity for Ange Postecoglou’s side to avenge their 2-4 defeat at the AMEX Stadium in the reverse fixture last year. The Spurs side have been already strengthened with winter arrivals and the return of key players from injuries.
4-3-3 Tottenham Predicted Lineup Vs Brighton
Defence
Guglielmo Vicario is going to start in goal for Tottenham without a second thought. However, he has been a bit shaking when put under pressure. He needs some good time on the field to enhance his confidence.
The defensive line is settled with the likes of Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Pedro Porro. While Udogie and Romero need to step up their game, Van de Ven and Porro were solid as a rock in the previous game and also contributed in the offensive aspect.
Midfield
James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, and Pape Sarr are likely to form the midfield trio while Rodrigo Bentancur gets to warm the bench. Maddison is an important link in the team and showed a great display of football against Everton. With time, he would like to get back to his pre-injury form.
Bissouma had a health concern but was later given the green signal. Hence, he should start if he is fully fit. Sarr, on the other hand, recently recovered from injury and got enough rest. He was prominent in the Spurs’ early-season winning streak and would want to start commanding the game once again.
Attack
Timo Werner is expected to start at the left wing as he has started to settle well into the side. Son Heung-min is also available after South Korea lost in the Asian Cup semifinals. However, he might not be rushed after spending a hectic three weeks.
Having scored nine goals in the last eight games, Richarlison will undoubtedly be the striker of the side. Once again, he will be required to deliver the goods for his side. Brennan Johnson hasn’t had the best performances in the recent games but he is expected to get more opportunities.
