Chelsea entertained Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge earlier today as they hoped to secure a victory at home in the Premier League. The Blues made a good start to the contest and scored the opening goal in the 19th minute thanks to Cole Palmer’s effort. However, Matheus Cunha equalised just three minutes later. Wolves took the lead in the 43rd minute due to Axel Disasi’s unfortunate own goal. Chelsea went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.
Cunha scored again in the 63rd minute before going on to complete his hat trick in the 82nd minute from the penalty spot. Thiago Silva scored a consolation goal in the 86th minute as Mauricio Pochettino’s men crashed to a dismal 4-2 defeat in front of their home supporters.
