Antony might not stay with Manchester United for long. Antony was signed by Manchester United as a right-winger in 2022. However, his performance could never meet the expectations. The team hopes to sell him in the summer. However, due to his high salary, few teams are interested in him right now.
Manchester United wants to sell Antony
Antony has gotten a lot of criticism this season at Manchester United. He’s seen as a symbol of what’s going wrong there. It’s not that he’s a terrible player, but the team has used him in the wrong way. As Manchester United aims for a fresh start, Antony represents many of the mistakes they’ve made before.
Manchester United paid £85 million for Antony from Ajax. But since then, he’s only played 69 times, making four assists and scoring nine goals. He’s gotten more yellow cards than helping the team score. The manager’s decision to sign him hasn’t worked out well, and it’s hard to imagine him doing better in the future at Man United.
Paying such a big amount him seemed crazy back then, especially since the scouts thought he was worth only £25 million. Manchester United also gave him a big contract with £200,000 a week. But in the last year and a half, he’s been really bad, especially this season. So, it’s not surprising that people think he might leave Manchester United soon.

Now that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are part owners of Manchester United, big changes are coming. They’ll look at everything about the club, like how they recruit players, how they play, and the facilities they use. They’ll learn from past mistakes and figure out how to move forward. Antony might have done well in a different situation. He was important for Ajax, winning league titles and doing well in the Champions League. He’s also played for Brazil’s national team. But at Manchester United, things aren’t going well for him.
