Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. Spurs made a poor start to the game as they conceded a penalty in the 17th minute which Pascal Gross scored to put Brighton ahead. Angelos Postecoglu’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Pape Matar Sarr equalised for Tottenham in the 61st minute before Brennan Johnson went on to score the winning goal for Spurs in the sixth minute of injury time. The contest finished with the North London club earning a hard-fought 2-1 win in front of their home fans.

Vicario made a couple of decent saves at the back but couldn’t do much about Gross’ penalty in the 17th minute.

Romero put his foot through the ball when needed and was accurate with his passing.

He performed his defensive duties well and made one good run with the ball.
CM: Pape Matar Sarr – 6.5/10
Sarr caught the eye at both ends of the pitch and managed to score the equaliser in the 61st minute.

He showed a few flashes of what he could do but was replaced after the hour mark.
RW: Dejan Kulusevski – 6.5/10
Kulusevski caused some problems for the Brighton defenders but there was no goal for him.
CAM: James Maddison – 7/10
He managed to impress in the opponent’s half and did well to set up some promising chances for others around him.
LW: Timo Werner – 7/10
Werner worked his socks off in both halves but there was no goal for him.
ST: Richarlison – 7.5/10
He was a real menace inside the Brighton penalty box but failed to register a goal.
