In a recent report, Corriere dello Sport stated that Real Madrid are showing interest in Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Italian defender next summer.
Cambiaso’s Impressive Campaign In Serie A So Far
Cambiaso has caught the eye with his performances on the left side of Juve’s defence during this campaign. The 23-year-old has been involved in 21 matches for the Turin club this season, finding the back of the net twice and securing four assists in all competitions.
The Italian sensation has proven his worth at times on the left flank by averaging 1.1 tackles, 0.7 clearances, 0.7 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has even distributed the ball accurately from the back based on his pass completion rate of 87.8% in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Turin club will expire in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for the Madrid outfit to sign him on the cheap at the end of this season.
Is Cambiaso A Good Option For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Cambiaso is a good tackler of the ball and doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the offensive. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third. The Italian talent is a good dribbler with the ball as well and can contribute by scoring and setting up some important goals for his team.
Cambiaso is primarily a left-back but can also fill in as a right-back if needed. We can expect him to bring more quality to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s match-day squad. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 23, Cambiaso has still got a lot of room for improvement in his game and could prove himself to be a success story at the Madrid club in the long run. Thus, he would be a great option for Los Blancos to consider in the summer transfer window.
