In a recent report, Tuttosport mentioned that Newcastle United are among the clubs hoping to land Frosinone winger Matias Soule who is currently playing on loan from Juventus. It has been stated that the Magpies could face competition in the form of Crystal Palace in the race to recruit the Argentine wide player.
Soule’s Impressive Loan Spell In Serie A
Soule has enjoyed a decent loan spell at the Italian club as he has managed to put in a string of productive performances for them in the final third. The Argentine sensation has found the back of the net on ten occasions and earned a couple of assists in 24 appearances for Frosinone this season across all competitions.
The 20-year-old has been a good performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 2.3 shots, 2.4 key passes and 3.3 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 81% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at his parent club Juventus will run out in the summer of 2026 which could make it difficult for the Magpies to get a deal done for him at the end of this season.
Is Soule A Good Fit For Newcastle United?
Soule is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.
At the moment, Soule is enjoying his loan spell at Frosinone. He mainly functions as a right-sided wide player but can also serve as an attacking midfielder or play as a striker up top if needed.
Soule would be a great fit for Newcastle boss Eddie Howe’s needs in the long run. He has the potential to become a future star at St. James’ Park if the Magpies can devise a way to bring him on board in the summer transfer window. However, it remains to be seen whether the talented youngster can cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football.
