Liverpool reached the EFL Cup final for the 14th time in their history after they overpowered Fulham by a thin margin. They will face Chelsea on the final night on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium. A win will see them lifting the cup for a record 10th time.
The Reds have won the title the most number of times (9), with the latest being in 2022. They have been in terrific form in the league and would like to continue the same. A title victory will also boost their morale in securing the Premier League title.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs Chelsea
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher will continue to line up in goal for Liverpool as Alisson Becker will not be available due to injury. Right-back Conor Bradley may find himself a bit unlucky as Joe Gomez is likely to start ahead of him owing to the latter’s experience.
After a rest against Luton Town, Ibrahima Konate will return to the starting lineup to form the defensive duo with Virgil van Dijk. Left-back Andy Robertson will also make his way into the starting lineup replacing Joe Gomez, who failed to impress in his previous outing.
Midfield
The Reds have multiple injuries in the midfield group but their squad depth should be enough to field a strong unit. Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch are likely to form the midfield trio.
Allister enjoyed attacking more against Luton Town as he grabbed a goal and two assists. Endo and Gravenberch also played their part and are on the right path.
Attack
Liverpool are sweating on Mohamed Salah‘s fitness for the clash. With a couple of key players injured, Salah’s role becomes more crucial but only time will tell if he will be able to start or not. Not only him but Darwin Nunez is also doubtful.
While Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz will take care of the flanks, Cody Gakpo will try to position himself near the opposition’s penalty boss.
The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, Joel Matip, Ben Doak, Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones will not be available.
