It appears that Thomas Partey is getting ready to return for Arsenal. He hasn’t played much since August due to recurring muscular issues. His most recent thigh injury has posed significant challenges to his recovery. Mikel Arteta shared an update on how Partey is doing.
Mikel Arteta on Thomas Partey
Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, said that Thomas Partey will come back to play with the Arsenal team after not playing for four months. They will play against Sheffield United on Monday. Partey has had a lot of injuries this season. He hasn’t played since October and has only played four times in the Premier League this season.
“Thomas has a session before the last game and now he’s done two consecutive sessions and he should be part of the squad,” Arteta said.

When Partey is fit again, Arteta can have more options in how he sets up the team, which is something he really wants. Sometimes, Rice will be better suited for certain games, and other times, it will be Partey. Partey isn’t guaranteed to always play like he used to but he can still be really useful.
Arteta also provided an update on the return of Gabriel Jesus.
“He’s fit enough. How long he will last that’s very different. We didn’t want to take any risks. We need him fit and now we want to make sure we load him in the right way,” he said.
Arteta also said how players returning from injury can be unpredictable.
“Yeah, that’s one thing. Then depth, because we don’t know what’s going to happen and we’re going to have a lot of games. So freshness, more competition within the squad and the capacity to change games when the scenario is on our side and when we are chasing games. It’s something that in this period is going to be critical,” he added.
