Manchester United will take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Wednesday night as they look to secure a victory on their travels in the Premier League. The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Fulham recently, so they would be keen on putting in a much-improved performance in midweek.
Erik ten Hag will once again set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his starting XI for this cup game. Scott McTominay, Jonny Evans and Antony will get an opportunity to impress from the start of this contest.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Nottingham Forest
Defence
Andre Onana will try to catch the eye in goal for the Mancunian club after conceding a couple of goals in his last outing. Harry Maguire will resume his defensive partnership with Jonny Evans as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the 90 minutes.
Diogo Dalot will hope to give a good account of himself as the right-back while Victor Lindelof fills in on the other side as a makeshift left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well if Man United are to secure a clean sheet at the City Ground in midweek.
Raphael Varane will be rested on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-half positions.
Midfield
Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay will anchor the midfield for the Red Devils as they focus on making life tough for the home side at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Antony will play just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if the Mancunian giants are to secure a win this Wednesday night.
Christian Eriksen will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Marcus Rashford will spearhead Man United’s attack on his own up top. The English talent would be eager to put in a productive display for the visitors on the attacking end of the field.
Amad Diallo will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages of the game if Man United are in need of a goal by then.
