Manchester United are actively looking to sign new talents with multiple players linked to them. According to a report published in Fichajes, the English club is preparing an offer to sign the services of Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa.
The Red Devils want to reinforce their attacking unit, which hasn’t done really well in recent months. Chiesa has 18 months left in his contract and would be open to joining a new club in the summer. The Italian club will reportedly accept any offer close to €50 million for the player.
Federico Chiesa is a valuable player
Former Italian striker Enrico Chiesa’s son Federico Chiesa caught everyone’s attention with his impressive spell at La Viola. He was so good that he earned a call-up from the national team. Since moving to Juventus, he has become a pivotal figure, overcoming a major knee problem.
The 26-year-old is having a decent season so far with six goals and an assist in 19 games. He is averaging 2.3 shots, 1.5 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game this season. He has no significant visible weakness and is versatile to play in multiple positions in the attacking line (stats via whoscored).
Why Federico Chiesa is a good buy for Manchester United?
Manchester United’s interest in Enrico Chiesa is understandable. The club has spent big sums on the likes of Jadon Sancho and Antony but hasn’t got the dividend yet. The inconsistency of Marcus Rashford doesn’t help either and he is also rumoured to leave the club following this season.
With so many woes in the attacking group, boss Erik Ten Hag sees Chiesa as a viable option despite Alejandro Garnacho’s impressive performance on the right flank. The Italian attacker’s inclusion will add depth to the squad and will also reduce the dependency on the other players.
Chiesa can help Old Trafford regain their hold in the domestic league as well as in European football. His versatility makes him a valuable pick in the squad. He is skilful enough to create goal-scoring opportunities or shoot on his own to find the back of the net.
