In a recent tweet, The Athletic journalist Phil Hay mentioned that Leeds United have agreed on a loan deal for Burnley full-back Connor Roberts. It has been revealed that the Welsh talent will have his medical with the Whites soon ahead of sealing a six-month loan move to Elland Road.

Roberts’ Solid Season At Turf Moor
Roberts has experienced a solid campaign at the Lancashire club after he put in some impressive displays on the right side of Vincent Kompany’s defence. The 28-year-old has been involved in 16 matches for the Clarets this season but has failed to score or create a goal for them on all fronts.
The Welsh talent has been a decent performer on the defensive end of the field based on his average of 0.9 tackles and 1.6 clearances per game in the Premier League. He has even distributed possession relatively well from the right flank after completing 84.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Roberts is under contract at Burnley until the summer of 2025. Hence, it makes sense for Leeds to try and arrange a loan move for him right now.
Is Roberts A Good Option For Leeds United Boss Daniel Farke?
Roberts is a tough-tackling full-back who doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. He is a tidy passer of the ball as well but needs to add a few goals and assists to his game. The Welsh sensation is primarily a right-back but can also function as a left-back if told to do so by his manager.
Roberts would bring more bite and steel to Leeds boss Daniel Farke’s defence. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at Elland Road this season and could help the Yorkshire giants secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Therefore, Roberts would be a good option for Leeds United to consider on loan in the short-term. He will help the Whites cope with injuries and fixture congestion better in the second half of this EFL Championship campaign. All in all, Roberts has what it takes to perform at a high level for Leeds over the next few months so that he can get his career back on track.
