Ibrahima Konate, a Liverpool player, thinks it’s funny to suggest that Kylian Mbappe might join his squad this summer. Mbappe just informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will not extend his contract and will depart the club when the season concludes.
Ibrahima Konate on Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool rumours
Konate laughed at the idea of Kylian Mbappe joining him at Anfield. Konate, who was back from suspension, helped Liverpool win against Brentford. He joked about Mbappe joining Liverpool when asked by a French broadcaster.
Liverpool were rumoured to be interested in Mbappe a while back because they needed someone to take over from Mohamed Salah in the future. Mbappe is very popular in Europe right now. He scored 31 goals and made 7 assists in 30 games for PSG this season.
But it seems Konate doesn’t think Liverpool will try to sign Mbappe. He suggested that Madrid might be his next team.
“In all honesty do you really think he’s going to come to Liverpool? We don’t think about him, we all know where he’s going to go,” Konate said via Sky Sports.

Mbappe leaving PSG is confirmed, and it seems like he’s going to join Real Madrid in the summer. Some reports say that the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, has already told the team about Mbappe coming. But they might wait until the end of the season to make an official announcement.
On Saturday, Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti chose not to talk about the rumours.
“I understand it’s the topic of the day for you, but for us it’s tomorrow’s game [against Rayo Vallecano]. We have to do well. That’s what is on my mind,” he said.
In 2017, Kylian Mbappe moved from AS Monaco to PSG for €180 million, which made him the second most expensive football player ever. Madrid tried to sign him in 2021 and offered €200 million, but they couldn’t reach an agreement with PSG.
