Newcastle United faced off against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the tenth minute thanks to Bruno Guimaraes’ effort. However, Anthony Elanga equalised for Nottingham in the 26th minute. Fabian Schar gave his team the lead again in the 43rd minute which was cancelled out by Callum Hudson Odoi’s goal in the first half injury-time. Both teams went into the half-time break with a 2-2 scoreline.
Guimaraes scored again for Newcastle in the 66th minute which proved to be the difference on the night. The match ended with Eddie Howe’s men earning a hard-fought 3-2 win away from home.
