Aston Villa entertained Chelsea at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a slow start to the contest and conceded the opening goal in the 11th minute when Conor Gallagher found the back of the net. Nicolas Jackson doubled Chelsea’s advantage just ten minutes as Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 down on the scoreline.
Enzo Fernandez scored another goal for the visitors in the 54th minute before Moussa Diaby got a goal back for Aston Villa in injury-time. The West Midlands club ended up crashing to a disappointing 3-1 loss in front of their home fans.

McGinn caused some problems for the Chelsea defenders but failed to take any of his chances.
