In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo claimed that Barcelona are eager to recruit Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. It has been stated that the Catalan club are showing interest in signing the Georgian talent.
Kvaratskhelia’s Impressive Numbers In Serie A This Season
Kvaratskhelia has enjoyed another decent campaign at the Naples club after putting in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 23-year-old has scored six goals and grabbed five assists in 31 matches for Napoli this season on all fronts.
The Georgian wing wizard has caught the eye at times out on the left flank by averaging 3.6 shots, 1.8 key passes and 3.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 84.6% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2027. Therefore, Barcelona would have to make a sizable offer if they are serious about recruiting the Georgian sensation at the end of this campaign.
Should Barcelona Boss Xavi Snap Kvaratskhelia Up In The Summer?
Kvaratskhelia is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can be a hard man to dispossess when he is running at full swing in the final third. He can strike the ball with power from long range and can make a few inviting chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half.
The Georgian talent is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also play as a right-winger or as a striker down the middle if required. He is currently playing some of the best football of his young career. Furthermore, the gifted wide player has got some valuable experience in the UEFA Champions under his belt.
Kvaratskhelia would add more firepower to Barcelona boss Xavi’s frontline. He has what it takes to help the Catalan club compete for some major honours over the next few years.
At 23, Kvaratskhelia will only get better with each year. Hence, Barca should go all out to snap him up when the transfer window commences later this year. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in Spanish football.
