In a recent report, Tuttomercatoweb mentioned that West Ham United have made a move to sign Monza starlet Valentin Carboni. It has been claimed that the Hammers have launched a €14m offer to land the Argentine playmaker.
Carboni’s Impressive Loan Spell At Monza
Carboni has enjoyed a decent loan spell at Monza as he has put in a few eye-catching displays for them on the offensive end of the field. The Argentine sensation has done well to find the back of the net on two occasions and earn three assists in 15 matches for the Italian club this season across multiple competitions.
The 18-year-old has made most of his appearances off the bench which explains why he is only averaging 0.8 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has also been accurate with his ball distribution after making 85.5% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at his parent club Inter Milan will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Hammers to land him on a cut-price deal in this winter transfer window.
West Ham United Have Made A Move For Carboni: Is He A Star In The Making?
Carboni is proficient at engineering a yard of space for himself to get some shots in at goal. He has got the vision to create the odd chance for his teammates and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. The Argentine talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if told to do so.
We can expect Carboni to bring more firepower to West Ham‘s attack. He might even help the Hammers compete across all fronts in the coming seasons. At 18, Carboni is still quite raw and would need time to adapt to life in English football if David Moyes can find a way to get him on board this January.
There is no denying that the Argentine sensation is a star in the making, so the London club should focus on getting a deal over the line for him soon.
