In a recent report, The Athletic revealed that West Ham United are among the clubs hoping to land Chelsea forward Armando Broja. It has been mentioned that the Hammers are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Albanian sensation but would have to rival Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers in pursuit of him.
Broja’s Recent Form At Stamford Bridge
Broja has caught the eye at times for the West London club in the final third despite missing a lot of games for them due to injury. The Slough-born talent has scored two goals and secured one assist in 17 appearances for Chelsea this season in multiple competitions.
The 22-year-old has seen a lot of his game time come as a substitute but has done well to average 1.0 shots and 1.0 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He has even been careful when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 89.2% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Stamford Bridge will expire in the summer of 2028. Thus, West Ham will have to launch a convincing offer if they want to win the race to sign Broja this January.
Is Broja A Decent Fit For West Ham United?
Broja is proficient at creating a yard of space for himself and can strike the ball with power from all ranges. He is an energetic dribbler with the ball and can create a few meaningful openings for others around him in the attacking end of the field.
We can expect Broja to add more firepower to West Ham boss David Moyes’ attack. He has what it takes to help the Hammers challenge for a European spot once again in the Premier League this season.
At 22, the best is yet to come from the Albanian talent. Hence, the East London club should set their sights on recruiting Broja before the end of this winter transfer window. The Chelsea forward would be a good fit for West Ham‘s needs at the moment as he is more than capable of competing with Michail Antonio for a regular starting spot at the London Stadium in the coming years. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to settle into life at West Ham.
