Liverpool will welcome Fulham at Anfield this Wednesday night as they look to earn a win in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final tie. The Reds managed to secure a solid 2-0 victory away at Arsenal recently, so they would be full of confidence heading into this cup game in midweek.
Jurgen Klopp will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Virgil Van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota could all play from the start of this contest at Merseyside.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher will operate in goal for the Reds as he looks to secure a clean sheet at Anfield. Virgil Van Dijk will resume his centre-back partnership with Ibrahima Konate if the Dutch defender can recover from an illness. Both of them would be eager to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will try to catch the eye as the right-back while Joe Gomez fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would get the license to get forward and express themselves in the Fulham half.
Jarell Quansah will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will make up Klopp’s midfield as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. All three of them need to find a way to create some decent chances for their teammates up top.
Harvey Elliott will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Luis Diaz will try to give a good account of himself on the left flank while Diogo Jota hopes to impress as the right-sided wide player. Darwin Nunez will once again lead the line for the Merseyside club down the middle.
Cody Gakpo has to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter if needed.
