In a recent interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, Club Brugge icon Paul Okon urged Tottenham Hotspur to land Club Brugge winger Andreas Skov Olsen. Okon said,
“Andreas… Andreas should never play for Club Brugge.
“And I don’t say that out of disrespect for Club. Skov Olsen is a footballer for the absolute top in Europe.
“He should play for Tottenham, with their Australian coach Postecoglou – that’s how good Andreas is. You have to ask him why he still plays in Belgium…”
Olsen’s Impressive Form In The Jupiler Pro League
Olsen is having an excellent campaign in Belgium football as he has put in a string of impressive displays on the right side of Brugge’s attack. The 24-year-old has banged in 17 goals and grabbed five assists in 31 matches for the Belgian club this season across all competitions.
The 24-year-old has been a reliable performer in the final third based on his average of 2.4 shots, 1.8 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in Jupiler Pro League. He has even taken care of the ball when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after making 78.4% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu Move In For Olsen?
Olsen is a decent dribbler with the ball and can make some driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to set up a few inviting chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half and can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range.
The Danish sensation is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also play as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. He is currently playing at the top of his game which makes him a worthy target for a top club like Tottenham to pursue this winter.
Olsen would add even more firepower to Spurs head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s frontline. He is good enough to rival Dejan Kulusevski for a regular starting spot at the North London club. Hence, Tottenham should think about moving in for Olsen before the end of this January transfer window.
