In a recent report, Football.London claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are in the race to sign Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe. It has been stated that Spurs are showing interest in recruiting the English wide player before the end of this month.
Rowe’s Good Run Of Form At Carrow Road This Season
Rowe has enjoyed a great campaign at the Norfolk club as he has been responsible for putting in a series of productive displays for them in the final third. The 20-year-old has banged in 12 goals and grabbed three assists in 28 matches for Norwich this season across all competitions.
The talented wing wizard has caught the eye in the opponent’s half by averaging 1.9 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game in the EFL Championship. However, he lacks quality when distributing the ball in the attacking end of the field based on his pass success rate of 73.5% in the second tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the English club will run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Spurs could potentially land him on a cut-price deal at the end of this campaign.
Is Rowe A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?
Rowe is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range.
The English winger has done well to add a lot of goals to his game this season. He is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also function as a right-winger or play in the number ten position if required.
Rowe would bring more firepower to Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. At 20, he has the potential to become a future star at the North London club. Hence, Rowe would be a great choice for Spurs to pursue in the long run.
However, it remains to be seen whether Rowe can maintain his good form in top-flight football if Postecoglu manages to get him on board this winter or at the end of this season.
