Here are the latest Scottish Premiership transfer rumours of the day as on 19.1.2024.
Rangers player Ridvan Yilmaz wants to leave
Ridvan Yilmaz has told Rangers that he wants to leave in January, according to reports. The 22-year-old left-back is wanted by Hellas Verona and Galatasaray. Yilmaz, a Turkish international, was signed from Besiktas for over £5 million 18 months ago.
According to Turkish reports, Yilmaz wants to return to Turkey and has informed Rangers manager Philippe Clement of this intention. But Clement stated that Yilmaz will not be sold unless the club finds someone to take his position.
Matt O’Riley could leave Celtic
Celtic are getting ready for a big offer from La Liga side Girona for Matt O’Riley in this month’s transfer window. Inter Milan are also interested in the midfielder. O’Riley has been getting more attention from teams across Europe for a while, but his contract goes on until 2027, so that’s a hurdle for any team wanting to get him in for cheap.
Rodgers wants to keep the 23-year-old Danish international until at least the summer. However, don’t expect him to command a price of £30 million as some ”experts” are claiming.
Duk is not leaving Aberdeen
Barry Robson, the Aberdeen manager, believes Duk won’t be sold in January, even though there are rumours that other teams are interested in him. Some reports mentioned a rejected offer from the Swiss team Young Boys, and teams in Serie A and Eredivisie are also said to be interested in the former Benfica star.
Luke Amos could join Hibs
Luke Amos is without a team since he left English Championship side QPR in the summer due to injuries. Now, he’s training with Tottenham, where he used to be part of the academy. There’s a possibility that he might get a chance to restart his career at Easter Road with Hibs, as the Daily Record suggests they could offer him a deal. Amos is a defensive midfielder and played 60 games for QPR over three seasons.
Andy Halliday joins Motherwell
Hearts midfielder Andy Halliday joins Motherwell on a six month loan that will become permanent over the summer. Halliday had other options in the Scottish Premiership including former club Livingston, but he chose Motherwell.
