Scottish Premiership transfer rumours: Rangers stance on Kevin van Veen, Hearts to sell Shankland and more

Here are the latest Scottish Premiership transfer rumours of the day as of 8.1.2024.

Rangers stance on Kevin van Veen

Kevin van Veen is not wanted by Rangers currently. The Dutch striker used to play for Motherwell and has had a mixed experience since moving from the Scottish Premiership to the Dutch second tier.

He surprised people by saying he turned down Rangers in the summer. The forward even claimed that Rangers are still interested in him.

Now, a veteran Dutch journalist, Piet van Dijken, talked to former Rangers player Arthur Numan and Dutch pundit Wouter Gudde. They all agree: right now, Rangers don’t seem interested in signing Van Veen.

Hearts to sell Lawrence Shankland?

Lawrence Shankland is arguably the best forward in the SPFL. Even though Hearts said they don’t want to sell him, he’s scored 19 goals this season. Now, there are reports that if a good offer comes, Hearts might change their mind.

This is something The 4th Official had already reported on their Patreon especially when it comes to Rangers’ interest in the forward. This could become very interesting soon.

Kris Moore could join Hibs

For Hibs, Nick Montgomery has said that Kris Moore might be on his list for transfers. Kris Moore from Leeds United has caught Montgomery’s attention by doing well in the Premier League 2 for the Leeds U21 team. It’s said that Moore might be ready to move to Leith, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Hibs have been scouting Kris Moore, a 20-year-old defender from Leeds United who is very talented for some time now. Moore has been impressing many people, including Hibs, while playing for Leeds’ under-21 team in Premier League 2.

Hearts won’t be able to land Yan Dhanda in January

Ross County don’t want to let Yan Dhanda go in January. Hearts, on the other hand, don’t want to pay a lot of money, so they might agree to sign Dhanda on a pre-contract deal for the summer instead.

The Ross County boss, Derek Adams has no incentive really to sell unless a really good offer comes in from the Edinburgh club. The money situation is unlikely to change for Hearts unless they can get more cash by selling players in the next few weeks. Wink, Shankland wink.
