Here are the latest Scottish Premiership transfer rumours of the day as of 7.1.2024.
Million Manhoef to Rangers?
Million Manhoef of Vitesse Arnhem may have to wait until the summer to join Rangers. It appears that the Eredivisie club does not want him to go before the season is over. The Dutch Under-21 international was linked with a move to Ibrox in January for £2.5 million.
However, according to Der Gerlander, Vitesse is refusing the transfer because they believe it will increase their chances of relegation. According to them, the club believes they can receive more money for the 22-year-old in the summer because his contract runs until 2025.
Let’s be honest, Rangers will probably have better options in the summer when it comes to forwards.
Kris Moore to join Hibs
Hibs are close to making their first signing in the January transfer window, and it looks like it will be Leeds United defender Kris Moore. He’s 20 years old and can play both right-back and centre-back. Although he hasn’t played for the Leeds United senior team, he’s been doing well in the Under-21 side.
The Yorkshire Evening Post says that Moore is ready to join Easter Road on a loan deal until the season ends. Since Chris Cadden is injured and Lewis Miller is at the Asian Cup with Australia, Hibs manager Nick Montgomery wants to strengthen the team’s choices at right-back.
Joe Hart to stay with Celtic?
Joe Hart will turn 37 in April, and his contract with Celtic will end after this season. Usually, this might make his manager worried and it’s often urgent to figure things like this out in advance. However, for Brendan Rodgers, it’s not the same with Hart. Rodgers mentioned that he will talk with Hart about his future only towards the end of the current season. This decision will be crucial for Rodgers as he shapes his team in the coming months. Right now, he firmly believes that the goalkeeping position is not a top priority.
Rangers interested in Emmanuel Dennis
According to multiple reports, Rangers are considering signing Emmanuel Dennis, a striker from Nottingham Forest. He’s 26 years old and is currently on loan with Basaksehir FK in Turkey, but things haven’t gone well as he hasn’t scored in eight games.
Nottingham Forest might bring him back if they can find another team for him. A transfer journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, says that Rangers have been offered Dennis, but there hasn’t been an official request yet. Dennis, who cost Forest £10 million when he joined from Watford in 2022 is not unknown to Rangers boss, Philippe Clement, from their time together at Club Brugge.
Josh Doig will not be moving to Rangers
Reports in Italy claim that Josh Doig will be moving to Torino. Hopefully, this will end all rumours of Doig making his way to Rangers.
