In a recent report, The Daily Mail claimed that on-loan Everton winger Arnaut Danjuma is on the radar of Lyon. It is understood that the French club are hoping to sign the Dutch wide player with his current loan with the Toffees set to run out next summer.
Danjuma’s Unimpressive Loan Spell At Everton
Danjuma has struggled to earn a regular starting spot at Goodison Park during this campaign but has caught the eye at times for them in the final third. The Dutch sensation has found the back of the net just twice in 18 matches for the Toffees this season across various competitions.
The 26-year-old has made most of his appearances as a substitute which explains why he is only averaging 1.8 shots, 0.5 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he has lacked quality when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 71.8% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Danjuma’s current loan spell at the Merseyside club will run out at the end of this campaign. With Everton currently facing the prospect of another relegation battle in the second half of this Premier League season, Sean Dyche would be wise not to let any of his players leave before the end of this month.
Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Let Danjuma Go?
Danjuma has got the pace to get in behind the opponent’s backline and can create the odd chance for his teammates up top. He can shoot the ball with power from long range but is in dire need of adding more goals and assists to his game.
At the moment, Danjuma is finding game time hard to come by at Goodison Park. Thus, Sean Dyche could be inclined to cut his loan spell short so that he can make more room in his squad for some late arrivals if the Toffees decide to do some business in the final days of this transfer window.
Still, it would be wise for Everton to not let Danjuma go as they are facing a relegation battle in the Premier League at the moment. The Dutch winger has got the skillset to become a real asset in Dyche’s squad in the second half of this campaign.
