Chelsea will welcome Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge this Friday night as they look to secure a win in the FA Cup. The Blues managed to secure a 6-1 victory over Middlesbrough recently which should give them a ton of confidence going into this game.
Mauricio Pochettino will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation once again and is expected to make a few tweaks to his first XI for this game. Noni Madueke, Conor Gallagher and Benoit Badiashile will get a chance to play from the start of this FA Cup contest.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Aston Villa
Defence
Dorde Petrovic will continue to function in goal for the West London club after conceding one goal in his last outing. Benoit Badiashile is expected to partner up with Levi Colwill at the centre of the Chelsea backline as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.
Axel Disasi will fill in as the right-back while Ben Chilwell, who is a slight concern ahead of this game, hopes to catch the eye on the other wing as the left-back. The two of them would get the license to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack in support of the front players.
Thiago Silva might get a rest on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will anchor the midfield for the Blues as they look to win the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Noni Madueke will play just ahead of them as part of Pochettino’s attack. All three of them need to be at their best if Chelsea are to come out on top in this cup contest at Stamford Bridge.
Raheem Sterling, Carney Chukwuemeka and Mykhailo Mudryk will drop to the Chelsea bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Pochettino opts to call upon their services.
Attack
Armando Broja will once again spearhead Pochettino’s attack in the final third. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet and make a difference for Chelsea in this FA Cup game.
