Liverpool will clash heads with Fulham at Craven Cottage this Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result on the road in the second leg of their EFL Cup semifinal clash. The Reds managed to secure a 2-1 win over the Cottagers in the first leg which should give them a lot of confidence about booking a place in the final this week.
Jurgen Klopp will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Caoimhin Kelleher and Ryan Gravenberch will get an opportunity to impress from the start of this contest.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher will operate in goal for the Merseyside club after shipping in one goal in the first leg. Ibrahima Konate will get a chance to impress alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the centre of the Liverpool backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Conor Bradley could keep his place at right-back while Joe Gomez hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Jarell Quansah will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliott will operate as Klopp’s central midfielders as they try to dominate the game at the centre of the park. All three of them have to move the ball well if they want to create enough chances for the Reds to secure a win in midweek.
Curtis Jones is unlikely to recover in time for this game.
Attack
Luis Diaz will try to catch the eye on the left flank while Diogo Jota hopes to impress as the right-sided wide player. Darwin Nunez will once again lead the charge for the Merseyside giants in the final third.
Both Jota and Nunez managed to secure a brace against Bournemouth recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this EFL Cup game.
Cody Gakpo has to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
