Everton will entertain Crystal Palace at Goodison Park this Wednesday night as they look to secure a win in the FA Cup. The Toffees managed to grind out a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways in midweek.
Sean Dyche will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a few changes to his first team for this game. Andre Gomes and Dwight McNeil will both get an opportunity to impress from the start of this cup contest versus the Eagles.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Crystal Palace
Defence
Joao Virginia could get a chance to catch the eye in goal for the Merseyside club. Jarrad Branthwaite will function alongside James Tarkowski at the centre of Everton’s defence as they look to keep things solid on the defensive end of the field.
Nathan Patterson will operate as the right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Michael Keane will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
James Garner will play alongside Amadou Onana in the holding midfield positions as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Dwight McNeil, Andre Gomes and Jack Harrison will function just ahead of them as part of Everton’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to engineer enough chances for Everton to win this cup contest at Goodison Park.
Arnaut Danjuma will be named on the bench as he awaits his chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will spearhead Dyche’s attack in the attacking third of the pitch. The English striker would have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for Everton up top.
Beto will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if the Toffees are in need of a goal by then.
