Arsenal are in the Premier League title race, but they need to improve their team. Mikel Arteta is working to ensure that their forwards score more goals, as they have previously struggled with it. Additionally, their defense has been hampered by injuries. The Gunners needs to improve their goal-scoring ability, and they are hoping Gabriel Jesus can step up and be more clinical.
Rio Ferdinand on Gabriel Jesus
In the recent episode of The Obi One podcast, ex-Chelsea player Mikel asked Ferdinand if Toney could help North Londoners win their first Premier League title since 2004. Ferdinand shared his honest opinion on the matter and also talked about Gabriel Jesus.
“His goal record has been really good in the Premier League, and Arsenal need someone who is going to be occupying center-backs in the penalty area. I think Jesus is a teammate’s dream. I think every player loves playing with Jesus. He offers himself so much for the team, he does everything you want as a teammate. He would help you out when you are in a bad position, he would run the extra yard, he would chase down opponents, he would keep possession of the ball, play people in,” Ferdinand said.
“But I said this to him when I was with him a while ago, ‘You get your goals in the box. Stay in the box, you get your goals, and that is where you are going to be judged. He is smart, he has got that Brazilian laidback ‘I want to play football, I want to enjoy the game vibe,’ and I think Ivan Toney is a bit more focused on being in the box and wants to score goals, so he might suit Arsenal, but have Arsenal got £100m? I don’t think Brentford will sell for any price in this window,” he added.

Arsenal won a game after not doing well in their recent matches. They beat Crystal Palace 5-0 at Emirates. But experts and fans think Arsenal should get another forward this month to improve their chances of winning the title. Gabriel Jesus hasn’t been scoring enough goals for Arsenal.
