In a recent report, Planeta Boca Juniors claimed that Everton are keeping tabs on Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino. It has been revealed that the Toffees are among the clubs monitoring the progress of the Argentine youngster.
Anselmino’s Impressive Rise In Argentine Football
Anselmino has caught the eye at times with his performances for Boca Junior’s youth teams. He has proven himself to be a capable presence for the Argentine club on the defensive end of the field.
At the moment, the 18-year-old is amongst the best young central defenders in Argentine football. Anselmino has already made five senior appearances for Boca Juniors thus far across all competitions.
His current contract at the Argentine club will run out at the end of 2028. Hence, Everton would find it difficult to get a deal over the line for Anselmino before the end of this January transfer window.
Everton Are Keeping Tabs On Anselmino: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Anselmino is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. Standing at 1.86m, the Argentine whizkid can be a dominant presence in the air as well. However, he is still quite raw and would need time before he can prove himself at the highest level.
At 18, the future looks quite bright for Anselmino as long as he continues to improve with each year. He will no doubt be a great addition to Everton’s squad in the long run. He has the potential to become a future starter at the Merseyside club.
Therefore, Sean Dyche should consider getting a deal done for him if he is willing to be patient with his progress. However, Anselmino is currently not good enough to help the Toffees get out of relegation danger in the Premier League this season.
Still, there is no denying that the Argentine sensation is a prospect to watch out for in the coming years. Thus, Everton should try everything they can to lure Anselmino to Goodison Park before the end of this month.
