Uzun’s Impressive Rise In German Football
The 18-year-old is having a great campaign at the German club after putting in a run of productive displays as the focal point of their attack. Uzun has found the back of the net on 11 occasions and picked up three assists in 18 matches for Nuremberg this season in various competitions.
The talented teenager has been a consistent performer on the offensive end of the field based on his average of 2.2 shots, 0.8 key passes and 2.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga 2. He has even been careful when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half as he has completed 80.8% of his attempted passes in the second tier of German football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Toffees to get a deal done for him this winter.
Should Everton Head Coach Sean Dyche Snap Uzun Up?
Uzun is proficient at engineering a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He has got the vision to create a few decent plays for others around him and can make some dangerous runs with the ball as well. The Turkish prospect is primarily a centre-forward but can also play as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so by his manager.
We can expect Uzun to add more firepower to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s frontline. At 18, he is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Goodison Park. Hence, the Toffees should focus on trying everything they can to snap him up before the end of this transfer window.
Uzun is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future and would be a great, long-term acquisition for the Merseyside club if they can manage to get him on board this winter.
