Chelsea are fine with Armando Broja departing for good, and they do not need to sign a new player before he leaves. Some teams, including Fulham, West Ham, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, are interested in signing him. Whether Chelsea signs a new player in January or the summer is unaffected by Broja’s departure. Christopher Nkunku is expected to return from injury soon.
Armando Broja could leave Chelsea
Armando Broja usually plays 2nd choice to Nicolas Jackson in Chelsea’s attack this season. The 22-year-old has only started seven games because he had an injury at the beginning of the season. Chelsea are thinking about getting Victor Osimhen from Napoli and Evan Ferguson from Brighton. If they do, Broja might need to think about what he wants to do in the future.
Chelsea have always thought highly of Broja, but he got injured and didn’t score many goals, which made it difficult for him at Stamford Bridge. Even though he still has four years on his contract, Chelsea have to sell some of their academy players to follow the FFP rules. Broja might be one of those players. Chelsea needs a striker who can score a lot, and Broja hasn’t shown he can do that yet.
David Ornstein of The Athletic reports Chelsea is open to listening to offers for Armando Broja, even though they don’t have many strikers to choose from.
“Chelsea willing to let Armando Broja leave on permanent if suitable offer received. Interest from multiple clubs including Fulham, West Ham & Wolves. Not contingent on #CFC signing replacement + Nkunku expected back soon,” Ornstein tweeted.

Interestingly, if Broja leaves, Chelsea doesn’t have to get a new player right away, even though there are talks about big-name strikers like Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres. Chelsea doesn’t plan to sign Gyokeres this month. Even though Nicolas Jackson is away for the Africa Cup of Nations, Chelsea don’t think it’s urgent to bring in a new attacker. Also, Christopher Nkunku’s recent injury is not severe, and he’ll be back soon.
