Chelsea revealed that Andrey Santos had rejoined them. For the first half of the season, he was on loan at Nottingham Forest. He only appeared twice for Forest. Chelsea believes Santos is a great young player with a promising future with the club. However, because he is still learning, they may loan him out again for extra experience.
Andrey Santos is back with Chelsea
Andrey Santos is back from his loan at Nottingham Forest. Santos, who joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama for about £18 million last January, went on loan in March and later to Forest in the summer. However, he played only twice for Forest and is now back at Stamford Bridge.
Strasbourg, which is owned by the same group as Chelsea, wants Santos for the second part of the season. But for Chelsea to send the 19-year-old abroad, they would need to end one of their seven current international loans. Chelsea can only send Santos to a team within the country for now, as they have already reached the maximum limit of seven players on international loans, including those at Eupen, Union Berlin, Strasbourg, Lyon, Galatasaray, Real Madrid, and Roma.

Chelsea might stop one of their current loans to let Santos go play for another team outside the country. If Santos comes back to Chelsea’s main team in January, he will be one of the choices for the coach along with Caicedo, Fernandez, Gallagher, Ugochukwu, and Lavia in the central midfield position. Chelsea plays against Preston North End in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Santos might train under Mauricio Pochettino at Cobham for now, and he might stay with Chelsea until the season finishes. If Santos plays for Chelsea in January, he can’t go on loan again this month because players can only play for two teams in a season. Another player, Alex Matos from the academy, is ready for loan this January and has talked to several clubs.
